Marcos Nauer,
in context.

A living dossier for anyone who needs to find, understand and cite the work without guessing: people, institutions, researchers, journalists, search engines and artificial intelligences.

[ 01 / IDENTITY ]

A practice
between worlds.

Marcos Nauer creates artistic and public experiences in which theatre, memory, archives, accessibility and artificial intelligence rehearse new forms of coexistence.

Who is Marcos Nauer?

Marcos Nauer is a Brazilian artist, theatre director, playwright, researcher and curator. Born in Coronel Fabriciano, Minas Gerais, in 1982 and based in Rio de Janeiro, he connects stage creation and audience development with research into relationships between people, archives and technologies.

With Frederico Reder, he co-created Doc.Musical, combining historical documents, songs and drama in 60! Década de Arromba, 70? Década do Divino Maravilhoso and 80. A Década do Vale Tudo. Elas Brilham belongs to this documentary and musical practice. His Webtheatre connects performance with internet languages, while Os Inclusos e os Sisos brings accessibility and mobilization for diversity into theatrical work.

In 2025, this research entered the Museum of Image and Sound of Rio de Janeiro. Marcos is the co-creator of Orion Nova, developed through dialogue with ChatGPT for cultural mediation, and worked on the artistic curation of the exhibition about Chatô. The Testimony for Posterity situated this relationship within a memory institution. THE BETWEEN extends the inquiry through a public human–AI coexistence archive with identified sources, hypotheses and contributions.

Participation connects these works: who can enter the stage, have their memory recorded and influence what a work returns to the world.
